We are four aspiring scientists confronted with the task of performing several analytical assays on a variety of foods! The work we do in this lab has substantial implications in public health initiatives. The public has entrusted with assuring them that the food they consume is of the highest quality possible and that the nutritional labels that they find on their food products are accurate. The results yielded throughout this Spring 2015 semester came from basic assessments of macronutrient analysis as well as more specific assays for vitamin, mineral, and mycotoxin examinations.
